Which SaaS Marketing Agency Fits What You Actually Need?

October 5, 2026
Which SaaS marketing agency fits your pipeline gap? Seven are compared by the job each does, the proof each publishes, and when to hire none. Find your match.

A SaaS marketing agency fits you when the job it does matches the gap in your pipeline. So match the job first and compare names second.

Every entry gets the same checks, and the agencies are grouped by the job each does.

So which gap are you buying for? Who runs the program once the contract is signed? And what do you see at day 30 if it isn't working?

Key takeaways:

  • Entries are grouped by job and left unnumbered.
  • Agency claims come from each agency's own pages, and proof carries a date or the word "undated".
  • Pricing models are compared. Price figures stay off this page.
  • Each agency's "choose someone else" line is our judgment.

How did we choose these agencies?

We chose these agencies by shortlisting names that recur in SaaS agency roundups, then keeping only those whose own sites describe B2B software clients and a delivery model. We read each claim on the agency's own website on 5 October 2026.

We took no paid placements and numbered no one. What we add is a "choose someone else" line for each agency.

Reading the agencies' own sites caught a mismatch: Directive's list presents Inturact as a lifecycle specialist, while Inturact's own site now sells account-based marketing pilots.

SaaS SEO specialists live on a separate list, our SaaS SEO agency comparison, so they're not repeated here.

The four jobs are content with search, running the whole function, paid and demand generation, and long sales cycles with account-based marketing.

Which SaaS marketing agency fits which job?

No single SaaS marketing agency is the right choice for every company, so match your biggest gap to the job in the table.

Our view: buy the job, not the channel. A team that hires a paid specialist because ads feel fast, then finds its demo form loses most visitors, has bought the wrong job. The form needed fixing first.

Where does Tenpoint Labs fit?

Tenpoint Labs builds content and search programs as one system for B2B SaaS companies. The work covers topic mapping, production, optimization and distribution across Google, AI answers and LinkedIn, and we embed with your team instead of delivering projects over a wall. Content and search sit in one plan, so a topic map decides what gets written, how it's optimized and where it's distributed.

Endear, a retail clienteling platform, grew organic demos by 150% in a 90-day comparison working with us, a result we published in a case study.

Who can run your whole marketing function?

Kalungi runs the whole marketing function as an outsourced team, led by what it calls an Associate CMO, as its full-service page explains. Its homepage describes three engagement levels by company stage, from a playbook for teams before product-market fit to a done-for-you team for companies after it. Kalungi says it has served 280+ SaaS companies, a vendor claim we haven't verified.

Choose someone else if you already employ a marketing leader and only need one function filled.

Who handles paid and demand generation?

Three agencies on this list sell paid and demand generation, and they differ in how much else they bundle.

Directive

Directive's own list describes a method it calls Customer Generation, which packages paid media, content, revenue operations and conversion rate optimization together. Its pitch is attribution: it says reporting runs to the CRM, so spend connects to pipeline and closed revenue. It lists clients such as Gong and Wiz, and says it fits mid-market to enterprise SaaS.

Choose someone else if you're early stage and need positioning before channels.

Powered by Search

Powered by Search calls itself a B2B marketing agency and builds demand generation systems from content, paid search, paid social and SEO. It says it puts revenue and pipeline metrics above everything else, and it says it has helped 200+ B2B companies. Our guide to inbound versus SEO agencies covers how those two models differ.

Choose someone else if you want a SaaS-only specialist, since it serves B2B companies broadly.

Hey Digital

Hey Digital runs paid search, paid social and display as one system for B2B SaaS companies only, as its PPC service page describes. It says it optimizes for pipeline and qualified opportunities, not traffic or free signups, and that it has worked with 200+ B2B SaaS companies.

Choose someone else if the gap sits upstream of paid, in positioning or content. Hey Digital's own fit check also says it isn't a match for companies before product-market fit.

Who fits long sales cycles and ABM?

Ironpaper and Inturact both run account-based programs, and they differ in who they serve. Check which description matches your company before you book a call.

Ironpaper

Ironpaper is a B2B growth agency for companies with a long or complex sales process. It covers account-based marketing, demand generation, content and sales enablement, and says it focuses on conversion through the sales funnel.

Choose someone else if your sales cycle is short and self-serve, or if you want a SaaS-only specialist.

Inturact

Inturact helps sales-led SaaS companies that just reached product-market fit run account-based marketing through pilot programs. It says it staffs accounts with senior growth strategists and keeps a limited number of clients.

Choose someone else if your sales motion is self-serve or you haven't reached product-market fit.

How do SaaS agency pricing models differ?

SaaS agency pricing models differ in what the fee is tied to: hours, scope or outcomes. This page leaves price figures out on purpose, because a quote moves with scope, and in our experience the structure tells you more about incentives than the number does.

Five common structures cover the field: a monthly retainer for ongoing scope, a flat fee for fixed work, month-to-month terms, a pilot with exit criteria, and fees linked to performance. Kalungi says performance-linked terms are available on its full-service level.

A pilot works when both sides write down the exit criteria, such as a tracked baseline and a named metric. A flat fee suits a fixed deliverable and fits open-ended channel work badly.

Performance-linked terms need an agreed definition of a counted demo before the first invoice, and our content ROI framework shows how to tie content to closed deals.

Ask any agency what changes the fee mid-contract, and who owns the data and assets if you leave.

What should you ask before signing?

Ask for three things before the second call, because they separate agencies that can prove a result from agencies that can describe one.

  1. A named client at your stage with a dated result, as Google's hiring guidance suggests. A reference call the agency arranges is a reference call the agency arranges, so ask for the dated case study too.
  2. A sample report on the metric your board uses. Pipeline and revenue belong on it. A dashboard that only shows impressions is an expensive screensaver.
  3. An AI search test. Ask how the agency measures citations across engines, which sources fed each answer, and whether it can rerun the same prompts after changes and show the source mix move, not just a score.

Then set the day-30 expectation in writing. By day 30 you should see a plan, tracking and a first reading of your baseline.

You shouldn't expect pipeline yet, since search and content programs can take months to show impact in search results. A paid program can show movement sooner, so ask each agency which of its channels carries which timeline. Our list of AI SEO agency warning signs shows what a weak answer looks like.

When is an agency the wrong hire?

An agency is the wrong hire when the constraint sits inside your company, not in your marketing. Four situations call for waiting or for someone else:

  • Your sales team can't convert what it already gets
  • Nobody internally will own decisions
  • You haven't reached product-market fit
  • You have capacity and only need direction

More leads won't fix a sales process that loses them, and an agency can't approve its own recommendations for you. The last case points to a consultant, and our SaaS SEO consultant guide draws that line.

FAQs

What is the difference between a SaaS marketing agency and a SaaS SEO agency?

A SaaS marketing agency covers several channels, such as paid media, account-based marketing and demand generation, while a SaaS SEO agency specializes in organic search. If search is your only gap, start with the SEO list. If the gap spans channels, start with the job table above.

Should you hire one agency or several specialists?

One agency gives you a single point of contact and a shared plan, while several specialists give you depth in each channel. Several specialists only work if someone on your team can coordinate them and settle disputes over attribution.

Do SaaS marketing agencies cover AI search?

Many now say they do, but the claim needs a test. Ask how the agency measures citations across engines, since AI features traffic is counted inside Search Console performance totals, and ask for a baseline before the work starts.

Is a fractional CMO better than an agency?

A fractional CMO fits when you need senior direction and have people to execute, while an agency fits when you need execution capacity. Some agencies, Kalungi among them, put a senior marketing lead inside an execution team.

Pick the job, then the name

Choosing a SaaS marketing agency comes down to one question: if your pipeline stalled tomorrow, could you say which step broke? If you could, hire the specialist for that step. If you couldn't, hire the team that can find it first.

Match the job first. The names are the easy part.

Tenpoint Labs is one option in this category, and we fit teams with a marketing owner who needs content and search capacity. If that sounds like your gap, you can schedule a founder call to talk it through.
